When wholesale used iPhones, you may encounter some devices with a pop-up indicating “Genuine Apple Parts” for the screen or battery. Is a device with this pop-up really the same as an unrepaired original device? UEEPHONE will explain the situation.

In the past, devices with the “Genuine Apple Parts” pop-up generally had no issues, because if you replaced any Apple parts, such as the battery (iPhone XS/iPhone XR/iPhone XS Max), screen (iPhone 11/iPhone 11 Pro/iPhone 11 Pro Max), or camera (iPhone 12/iPhone 12 Pro/iPhone 12 Pro Max/iPhone 13/iPhone 13 Pro/iPhone 13 Pro Max/iPhone 14/iPhone 14 Pro Max), the device would display a warning of non-genuine parts in the settings. You could only replace these parts at an Apple Store or authorized repair shop to get the “Genuine Apple Parts” pop-up.

However, the situation has changed. Since Apple introduced its third-party independent repair program last year, any repair shop that joins this program can receive some genuine parts and training services from the official channel after paying a certain fee. After the shop replaces the parts and runs an official diagnosis, the device will pop up”Genuine Apple Parts”.

The problem is that the threshold for joining this program is very low, requiring only need to pay a certain franchise fee, which leads to the fact that many mobile phones with”Genuine Apple Parts” pop-up windows are essentially the same as the repaired used phones, and their quality depends entirely on the technician’s skills.

An iPhone showing genuine parts does not necessarily come from an official repair shop, but it does indicate that the replaced parts have passed Apple’s official repair inspection and verification.
